Plain and simple, Al & Val were abducted. And judging from the way Al began walking, there was some alien probing going on

Just kiddin man
I know you're kidding bro. honestly the fog ribbing is getting kinda old.

Anyhoo, just FYI, that region isn't called the great Smokey Mountains for kicks and giggles. Along the Cherohala Skyway there was fog like i've never seen. Kristen/KBelle said it was clouds and it sure seemed like it...man talk about thickness. So we were trekking the skyway and ran into the cloud. All the bugs started to slowly disappear in the fog/cloud. From my view, Sully, who was in front of me vanished in the fog. His once visible rear fog lights were gone; didn't noticed him turning or anything, just gone. So best and safest thing to do was to drive by instruments- follow the center line as you simultaneously look ahead making sure you don't slam into anything- and that's what I did. I kept on driving until we emerged from the cloud and I pulled over until we had bug sign. sure enough the rest of the crew came out of the cloud as I did and all was good. So moving forward was the best idea.

Stopping on highway in zero visibility fog to find someone = bad outcome.
driving slowly until fog clears = better outcome.
It made sense to me.

Anyhoo that's the story my friend. If i'm forever lampooned for that, oh well.

Sorry Al. Figured all the fog ribbing was in good fun. And like the photo archive of ToD 2K09, it's all part of history and in everyones memory who attended.

Al, the good thing is that this year, someone else will be the one who gets picked on! (Not that I want it to be me, mind you!!)

It's all good my man. I've got tough skin. I know you all are coming from a good place.

It's just that after all of the alien probing and interrogation, well it's just left me a little scared and traumatized

Seriously, it's all good, and it is a good story for our TOD History

TOD Breakfast update:

So Trudy (she has my sisters name) and I finally talked today. She's a friendly soul and is very excited on serving us. I mentioned that we'd start meeting at her place for breakfast at 7:30 a.m.. She said that would be no problem and that she loves to serve large parties. It's pretty cool that She's opening up a lot earlier for us exclusively.

I've got a few RSVP's for breakfast already, which is great! I hope the M.I.A. TOD posters chime in soon. I told Trudy that I'd give her a rough estimate of people who'll be attending her spot for breakfast- it would be wrong to just show up all willy nilly at her doorstep and them not knowing what crowd to expect. I hate to add to the orgs bandwith by starting another thread, but due to few TOD attendees responding to this thread, I think it's necessary.

Anyhoo gang, I know we're 41 days out but here's the link to the Blue Ridge Grill. Here you can see what food they have to offer for breakfast. CLICK HERE. Trudy wanted me to let you all know that although it's not on the menu, they do offer french toast for breakfast.

Also i'd like to know if anyone would like to do Sunday Brunch there. I'm not sure if she'll open early for us again, but maybe she'll open an hour early so we can gather our beetles together, have brunch and even let the locals check out our bugs.

So who's ready to eat?

EDIT: Link is now fixed

Yeah, just saw on Tailofthedragon.com that the Dragon is officially closed for the moment.

Let's hope they can get it re-opened in 41 days....
If not, at least we'll have some nice cruising!

I feel confidant that the Dragon will be open by May 1st. We'll still be driving the Cherohala Skyway should we need to make an alternate plan.

Bob (Raff)and his wife Sue have put totether a great twisty cruise for early arrivers Friday afternoon. Should the Dragon still be closed, we could add that to the Saturday itinerary instead. Still, since the Dragon is a major route, they should have it open.
