Rhonda -

I'm planning on going to this. I haven't heard from John (SixChuter - the triple white hard top at Roswell) yet but he mentioned people coming from the west joining up in Oklahoma for the carabug to NC. I'm not sure if that is really a good plan for your group. If you guys are all starting from Colorado Springs, you would be better off going due west to Topeka and KC and down to Nashville. We might hook up in Nashville though. Just all depends what everyone thinks.

Sounds like a fun time though.

If I may speak for the west coast group, so far I think we are doing the I-40 and then meeting up with SixChuter in OK. The more the merrier on the Carabug and hopefully we'll be able to meet up somewhere along the way.

We'll go anywhere we're needed if a carabug can use another Beetle. Seriously, if there is anything we can do to help those coming from west to east, let us know. We truly want to do everything we can to make this happen. We've been to the first go-round and know how much fun it is going to be the 2nd time around. Everybody make plans for the route of your trip and let's organize some carabuggin'! I hope we can fill the Ridge Top Motel for a couple of days. We'll find room to park every NB....I'm sure of that.

Should we start separate threads for regional caravans to find each other?

Probably should at some point. Seems a tad early. I'm guessing we need to make reservations in Bryson City pretty soon. The other reservations can wait a little longer.

Based on what he has posted so far, he is. Problem is San Antonio is over 10 hours south of me. He would be better served to cut across the state via I-20 (most likely) to head to towards Louisiana or Arkansas. If we can all meet up in Little Rock, that would be good. If Marvin's Dad (Antoine) can meet up with him, that might be a good plan if Antoine gets to go.

If someone from Houston is going, hooking up with him/her would be an alternative plan.

Correction - salsa guy should take I-10 across to New Orleans and snake his way to Bryson. He will go right through Houston so if anyone from Houston is going, maybe he can pick them up and caravan the rest of the way.

The plan for me at the moment is to take I35 to I30 and meet up with SixChuter and/or whoever else somewhere along I40 (prob in Little Rock). And anyone in Texas can join me (if they want). And I'll say what you didn't - since you're in the Panhandle it does not make sense for me to join you or vice versa. Wish all us Texans could get together tho.

For me, there is only a 70 mile difference in taking I40 rather than I10/I59. Plus, I have driven every mile of every Interstate north of Fla and south of Tenn so I could do it blind folded. (I grew up in the Southeast )So I am looking to do something different. But - it's a long way to May. Alot of things can change before then. If there are some folks along the I10/I59 route that would otherwise be alone and want to caravan, if they wanted me to, I'd join 'em so they wouldn't have to be.

Well - then we will meet somewhere in Oklahoma then since I plan on hooking up with John (SixChuter) somewhere in that lovely state. I'm well familiar with I-40 up to Ft Smith/Van Buren. After that, I'm a little fuzzy. I haven't traveled much of that part. Now the west bound I-40, I could do with one eye closed. We should have a nice group if we get a group from the west or even Colorado. Doesn't matter to me. I'm good no matter what.

Exactly why plans should be set in motion this early. This isn't your typical Sunday drive you're planning

Margarita will be leaving Marietta about 9:15 am Friday the 30th - If anyone wanted to pull out of Cleveland about 6:30 ish and come down I-77 we could meet at the 1st WV rest stop on I77-S in Parkersburg at 9:30.

We'd be in Charleston, WV at 11 am and could pick up any Pittsburgers coming down I-79, and should be in Wytheville, Va before 1 - picking up any northeasterners coming in on I-81.

Ideally that should put us into the Ridgetop just before dinnertime.

I can't leave earlier in the day because I have to have the dogs to the Kennel at 9am.

We're also going to swing by the Biltmore Estate Sunday and head over to Raleigh that day, so we'll likely be on our own on the way home.

But if that coordinates with anyone's plans for the way in, we could set up a carabug.

Good bump You folks are going to be rolling up some miles so better plan ahead of time, way ahead of time. Sure, it's 7+ months away but these kinds of plans need to be cast in concrete at least 4 months before leaving out your driveway's.

I may not post much on here in other categories, but I am anxious to meet each and everyone of you. And it may be the only time I get to see you face to face, shake your hand and give a hug. We really need to get this done and I promise that you left coasters won't be disappointed in the geography, friendship and overall feeling of love between this quirky little group of motoring enthusiasts. You'll leave for home saying "WOW".

Awww...

I'm thinking that the West Coasters will want to make this a week's trip, so you'll leave Sunday or Monday. Is that about right? Shonnel, Casey...your thoughts.

I was thinking that Peter and I would head out to Vegas Monday afternoon, and if it's okay with Shonnel and Joey we would stay there and leave Tuesday morning or somethin like that, but Peter and I need to be back by the next Wednesday evening because Peter works Thursday - Saturday
