I've no preference either. Let us know what you find. Hestersu and west coast folks are following this thread too so if they decide to drive on to LR Wed instead of Henryetta, they'll know where we are staying.

Is anyone else going to the Texas VW Classic on 4/18? We will be there.

I'm thinking about it but I have a couple of business trips I have to go on right around those dates but don't know yet the exact days.

I have a couple updates that I hope will help in some way.

I have checked with AAA on motels in Henryetta and have only found one. Henryetta is a small town (pop 6096) so I am not surprised.

Green Country Inn
2004 Old Hwy 75 W
Henryetta, OK

By the description, it is an older style, single level, exterior corridors. They offer hair dryers and wireless internet. The listed rates are $45-$58. If anyone would like for me to drive down and check the place out and shoot some pics, I would be happy to (as soon as the snow melts).

Now, moving on to Murfreesboro, TN. I have booked our room for Thursday night.

Best Western Chaffin Inn
168 Chaffin Pl.
Murfreesboro, TN.

Tomorrow is February! We must be getting close!

Okay, so as far as I know that map looks good, us westerners will be driving to Amarillo tuesday, from what I've read Su and I guess another NB'er want to leave wednesday?? If that is correct then we are all on the same page it seems, which is good, if I am wrong please let me know so I can pass the word to Shonnel and Danny.

Thanks, this is gonna be great

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the thread! I will most definitely be joining the caravan to TOD. From reading the thread it looks like you guys will go straight through Waco, so I can meet you there. Other than in Bryson, I have not made any hotel reservations along the way, yet, so I'll do that when we reach a consensus for what Hotels....

....And I'll try to be a little more active on the Org as we get closer.

Cool! Glad you'll be joining us Cameron! I'll add you to the map. Be sure to check this thread often as details continue to firm up particularly motel info.

I just reserved a room at the Sleep Inn in Bryson City. Will wait to see where we decide on for LR and TN. I was worried after I saw the number of Mini Coopers that will also be there that same weekend about getting a room. If it ever decides to stop raining and warm up, I will get out and start doing car things. I will bring my VAG 1551 with me. Hope no one needs it.

Good to see you have made it "official" Ray and I'm glad you were able to find a room. Which car are you bringing?

Hey everyone! Look at the fine Carabug we are getting together. Should be a few amazing days!

Hello Six Chuter, for the TOD we will bringing my 11 year old NB, PISANT. It has only 140K on the clock, so it is just broken in. It will be my first long trip with the supercharger. I have two other NB's but I need more drivers. I think we are going to have a great time and Connie and I can't wait. After TOD, we need to start on Roswell 2KV11. Roswell was fun, and next year will be even better. Next Roswell, I will bring all 3 NB's. I saw your snow pictures, and now I will stop complaining about the cold, damp 30 and 40's we are having.Waiting for TOD.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing you all again. I am also looking forward to our next trip to Roswell.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic folks but Roswell memories got me fires up. Remember this Saturday last June?

Hi Six Chuter, thanks for the great pic of my hood. Instead of where it says Cowl Induction, it know says supercharged. Thanks, and see you at TOD.

Default traffic law enforcement notice

Traffic Law Enforcement Notice!

I wanted to put this heads-up out to all the folks who are going to be driving through Oklahoma on the way to and from the TOD. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has announced that they will be heavily enforcing our "Left Lane Law" this year. This law simply specifies that the left lane should only be used for "passing slower vehicles and turning left".

Just wanted to let you all know that if they catch you hanging too long in the left lane it may cost you a $206 fine. Keep your eyes open out there and be careful.

This should be law everywhere! And they should add that trucks CANNOT pass other trucks going uphill.
