Hey John, have we pretty much covered what we need to in this thread? Have we forgotten any thing that hasn't been discussed yet?

And plus this thread needs a bump....

It looks like everything is pretty well lined up. We haven't heard much lately from a few of the travelers but I figure they are just busy getting things in order. I can't wait to join the group in Little Rock. I really got hooked on the carabuggin' when we went to Roswell last year. This trip will be an adventure you will remember.

I guess you and Sully will be a carabugavan of two!

Gary what about "W"-Warren, Is His VA route feasible to make it somewhere along your route?

Warren hasn't really posted much to the caravan thread from his area. From what I can gather I think we'll be heading west on I40 earlier than he & Lisa will.

ok so quick question... it's late and i'm just tired... but can't sleep cause I have a sick kid keeping me up right now. Will you guys be rolling through Knoxville as part of your caravan to Bryson City? IF so... any idea about what time-ish you'd be there as long as all works out? I suppose I should go back and read all 9 pages... but like I said. It's late. Easier to just ask.
The only way we could be part of that caravan is if you roll through Knoxville... and if our travel times work out. So let me know.

No sorry, we aren't going thru Knoxville. If you look at the map (I know I don't have K'ville on there) we are travelling down in the southeastern corner of TN. K'ville is further up towards the NE corner. On the map, K'ville would be above the "B" in "Bryson City".

Default Texas VW Classic

Hi Texans, don't forget this weekend is the Texas VW Classic in Fredricksburg. The car show is on Sunday, but they do have some kind of a BBQ and cruise on Saturday. The weather forecast is not real good, but there are a lot of VW's. Mostly air cooled, but we have a pretty good showing of water cooled's there. Check it out, Texas VW Classic - Car Info

Default TN Road closure (US64)

All, I just found out about a road closure in TN on US64/US74 due to (another) rock slide. This was part of our route to Bryson City. The good news is that the road should be open today (April 14). Go here for details and details -> U.S.-64 in Polk County Reopens to Traffic | TN.gov Newsroom

And go here for any new closures in TN -> Tennessee Department of Transportation

John, can you suggest an alternate route in case something else happens along this route?

Thanks for posting this, Mark. From the info you have found recently, it looks like we will be okay but we'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for watching my back.

At this time of day, in 14 days, the 2010 ToD Western carabug will be rolling into Murfreesboro, TN. Are any of you Texas/Western folks getting excited about this deal?

Anyone out there?

We are ready down here in Lakehills TX. It has been pouring rain since yesterday afternoon, and the weekend forecast is not a lot better. I need to change the oil, fix the dipstick tube I broke on Tuesday, clean it and we are good to go. Have a brand new Perfect Fit nose bra and a new car cover. I am planning to go to the Texas VW Classic this weekend, so that means I have to work my rear end off,and quick. No problem if it stops the rain. Forecast is not good. But we will be there at TOD, rain or shine. Hopefully bright sun, clear skies, and warm. This will be a great time.

Oh tell me about it! I know we need the rain but DANG IT I haven't been able to wash and wax Farrah. Nor clean her top or put her bra on....

Crossing my fingers that this Saturday will be nice. My only other time I will have to do all this is the Sunday before leaving for TOD. Which is really when I need to pack. Grrrrr
