Since we already have quite a few folks coming from the east, I figured I'd start this thread for you guys to start planning your bugavans. As this tread grows, don't forget to start your own cell # list for those in your group.

See you in 3 months!!!

Denise & I will be taking that same route (well, 40 west to Bryson City) from Aiken SC. As we get closer to the date, I'll be in touch to firm up plans. Be aware, we're heading up Friday 4/30 between 8 & 9 AM

Happy to have you on board and be sure to post to the ToD thread itself and introduce yourself.

We'll be dining on pizza at the Ridge Top this year, vs going in town to Anthony's due to the size of the group we'll have.
General feeling is it'll be more relaxed too for those just getting in from a long drive.

This will be my first attendance and I'm definitely saving to go. I've even got a friend excited; she doesn't have a bug (she doesn't even drive) but she's super into the idea of the photo opportunity and meeting awesome people!

I'm coming from VA (closer to DC) and according to Google Maps I'll be driving 9 hours down 85S and 40W. I have only taken north-going road trips so I'm not really familiar with the route... Willing to drive along with anyone coming from this area or passing through. I plan on taking the weekend (the 30th through the 2nd) and doing the whole she-bang so ... yeah.

We'll be going up I26 thru SC to 40 west. Depending on timing, we'd love to have you bugavan along with us.
The general area has awesome scenery so there will be photo ops galore.

Ga bugavan here. :hiya:

Due to timing of the FL people coming up, I'm not sure we'll be able to meet up with you guys headed up I40. Honestly not even sure if that's the way we are headed. I just listen to my GPS. lol But coming from Atlanta, it's what...4 hours, approximately? Not terrible. Though I get the feeling we'll be there mid afternoon sometime though.

This snow is killing me! Jasper and I are having fun (I love the snow and oddly enough love driving in it, and he handles way better than any other vehicle I've had) but unfortunately I haven't been working my full hours (or at all in some cases) and so unfortunately my super tight budget won't allow for a trip later this year. I am so bummed! Was really looking forward to it.

With the extremely kind offer of Beej, we will be coming from the (north)east as well (literally I'm coming from the East too! ).

I will just be following BJ, so I am not in the plan making obviously

PMing is great and I'm not criticising but actually posting to this thread is what will keep it alive. I'm not coming from this area but post here. Actually I may have even started this thread

Right on target Mr. Scott!

PMing is good but being that this event is very public, most intentions should be posted here, so others know the status of things. And like our fearless leader said, it keeps the thread alive. Also it keep you active on the org and an active beetle community is what we're all about!

V_BFW_W, keep plugging away at this thread and hopefully others will join the merriment!

Friday's Twisty Trip Update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a reminder -- the Friday adventure should depart from the Ridge Top Motel at 1:30 PM. The route will be scenic and leisurely - approx 100 miles/3 hours.

On the attached link we'll begin at Bryson City and run counter-clockwise (ignore the printed directions)
We can shorten the length by making a U-turn at the end of Wayah Rd at Rte 64 (before Franklin) and double back via the same route.

Tthe goal is to return to the Ridge Top with plenty of time to refresh the vehicles and the people.
