I can't tell you how many times I've looked at the artwork and never noticed. Some people just like to nit pick Just come anyway. We spell better in person

Rough itinerary: using last year as a guide- Gary will make any necessary corrections

Friday- the beetles arrive in Bryson City, begining early/mid afternoon until evening. Photo ops / meet and greet / motel check-in. Maybe some are checking in a day earlier...you never know.
6:00PM, gather at the "Top" for an informal meet.
7:00PM begins "pizza fest". After dinner more "getting to know eachother" time. At this time, we're not sure if the pizza fest will be at the Top, or at Anthony's Italian Restaurant downtown. The amount of attendees and general concensus will determine that. Specific details to follow.

Saturday- early a.m breakfast at the Blue Ridge Grill / gas-up / car wash in preparation for taming the Dragon. We depart from the Blue Ridge @ 9:00AM sharp. Since the Dargon will be open for thru traffic, we'll go back to the maiden voyage tour loop. Those who are opting out of another run(s), can peruse the Deals Gap shops, where the 2+ Dragon runners will catch up.

Saturday night- Dinner at the "neon pig", followed by lots of Dragon tales at the "honeycomb hideout"- the loft of the Ridge Top, and the other hotel's hideaway i'm sure. After dinner David & Lynne (uwharrie)are planning on hosting an old fashioned "ice cream social" back at the Ridge Top. They are in hopes that those lodging elsewhere will make the trek back to the "Top" for evening fun and festivities. I want to personally thank them both for making this part of the 2K11 ToD experience.

Sunday- Leaving Bryson City. There's talk about doing something early (Breakfast- etc T.B.A) before everyone leaves. Plans are in the works.

Since we'll be returning to the original tour loop, there will still be time for those that want to make multiple runs while others shop at Deals Gap.

Goodness, that took me like five tries to read! lol It's early...lol

Everyone is invited to stay extra. I'm just important because we bugavan back together j/k

Still can't wait. I just keep thinking about this year seeing 42 cars. Well, I don't even think I saw them all. I look at the pics all the time and go "I don't remember that car!" and "where was that one?!" And of course Matt will bring up a story from the Dragon and say "So and so said this...." and that always ends with my response as "who?!" SOOO many people. I can't wait to remeet some people next year who maybe I missed talking to this year lol.

Matt keeps saying I should wear a pink dragon suit and make everyone check in with me when they get to the Ridge Top so we know who all is there! lol If you can find me a pink dragon suit...I'll do it! ( I should probably google pink dragon suits before I say that just in case there are some pink dragon suits!!! )

Wha wha what!!!! Is that from Kathy? I find that odd. You look at the register for those days and see either vacancies, or none. Me thinks I'll call the Ridge Top today. What that could also mean is that if it is indeed full, it may not be all new beetle peeps.

Do not get discouraged Carla. If they in fact don't have a room, there are a couple other alternatives within a mile or two from the "Top" and their numbers are also posted on the 1st page of this thread. You, Lance & Peanut can still hang with us at the Top for the pizza fest and evening festivities. This is a family affair too so there are bound to be other kids for peanut to play with.

1st page artwork has also been changed.

And don't forget for 2K11, the Friday night "pizza fest is still a go. New is a Saturday evening "ice cream social" hosted by David & Lynne (uwharrie & thanks guys for an awesome addition to the weekend) in the courtyard of the "Top" after dinner at the Neon Pig.

Also, while I wasn't going to start one, I think I'd like to make up an attendance list for 2K11. After Carla (peanutsmom) mentioned that the Top, may not have an available room I'm curious to see how many non Orgers we'll have to share our space with. I still find it odd that they may not have a space when for ToD 2K09, the place was half empty. Sooo, while we can boost the post count to this thread by giving me a hands up, how about you good people PMing me confirming reservations.

Fear not lads & lassies, there may be hope for accomodations at the Ridge Top for ToD 2K11. I just got off the phone with Kathy who just got back late last night from a family vacation. She carries with her bookings for current year but not for next year. She's tying up loose ends from being away but as soon as she gets back to the office, she'll give me a call with an update. She also mentioned that she has to make a call to someone (me thinks it's Carla, aka peanutsmom) with room info.

At the time of this reply, I highly doubt the "Top" is booked so there should be plenty of space available. Of course I have been wrong before

Carla I hope many others have the same attitude as you do. I really want to see The Top booked with nothing but beetle people. It amazes me on how simple Kathy has made it for everyone to reserve a room, but many are dragging their feet. Good for you on your eager attitude and persistence. You're a beetle-crazy orger for sure

OK folks. I just got off the phone with Kathy from the "Top". They have 15 rooms available of their 36 total. Her next call is to Carla (peanutsmom) to book their room. That tells me that 21 rooms have been booked. 22 with Carla and family. She's also e-mailing me a list of Orgers who have already made reservations. From that list I'll know how many of the 22 rooms booked are Orgers. I'll create an attendance list like last year and PM those that aren't on her list of booked Orgers to get on the horn and make their reservations. It would be uber cool to have the "Top" all to ourselves again next May

I so agree Gary. With the fact that their NOT charging/debiting anyone's card until 24 hrs. before booked date, there's no reason the Top shouldn't be booked by now. And TOD, as big of a GtG as it is, remains a low-budget event- you really get a lot of bang for you buck!
