Southeast Bugavan 2k11

I'm so excited to be part of THIS... instead of driving alone like last year. Granted, last year was partly Wilky's fault, we left way earlier than everyone else that was semi close to us up in the midwest. lol

Anyhoo... who's all coming from the southeast, who'd take part of this bugavan? I know there's those out there who have more knowledge on it because you've done it in years past. But figured I'd get the thread started since there was interest in the main thread, and let you guys have at it.

I know Michelle says you guys like to run up Moonshiners on the way to the TOD. And I know Wilky wants to run 129 either all the way there, or all the way home. So maybe do moonshiners on the way there, 129 on the way back (for those who want to stick together as long as possible)... or vice versa.

Times? Stops? All involved? Other details? lol

This year, like the last two, we've kicked around the idea of heading west to hook up with you and the Florida folks. Unfortunately it adds 2+ hours to the drive so like 2K09 and 2K10, we'll roll straight up I26. With any luck we'll get to meet up with the northeast bugavans at I40.

OK, thanks for starting the thread Tamika. What we normally do is meet up by the Mall of Georgia around noonish...then hop down to Chipotle for a quick lunch. Then we head up 985 into Helen and off to the ToD. Great little drive, I believe it's Moonshiners 28 that we drove through last year, hoping my GPS will take me that way again, although I hope that one road isn't under construction again, that was kinda scary! lol

So, as far as I know, we'll have

Myself and Matt
Tamika and Steve and family
Al and Val
Jason
Vern

Hopefully we'll have Shonnel and Joey YAY!
Haven't heard from Jack or Niki

And that's all I can remember that went up last year or said they would be traveling with us. I know we've gotten a LOT more Georgia members so maybe we can make this an epic carabugavan year! Let's hope!

The closer get to ToD the more details I will have available.

Yeah that's right. Bummer. We may still do Chipotle cause it's been tradition, I guess, I'll have to ask everyone what they think. I do know that Buckhead Pizza and Five Guys are in the same plaza...so we do have options!

Sadly the Qdoba is in Johns Creek which is further south, which would add time, but if people want it, we could do it....maybe there is a Moe's nearby...hmmmm

The FL crew has been talking about our trek up there and we're pretty excited. I think we're gonna do another pre TOD GtG a week or so before the event.

We're really gonna try and leave a little bit earlier this year... i think We wanna get to ATL and Bryson City in early fashion. I really want to see at least one of the bugavans riding up to The Top.

Chipolte sounds good to us to- Val and I just had dinner there tonight. Anyhoo, Chipolte is quick, which is good- order, eat, and get rollin'.

We'll keep in close tabs with you all, since our beetlebots will be rollin out with you guys.

And yes, Shonnel and Joey will be a part of the bugavan, so you can add them to the list. I'm hoping to add some newbies to the list, but as of right now, other than who you all have mentioned, that's all we have. We'll be rollin deep yo!

I hear from Jack. He and Nichola (Nicky) did get married- this past October. They're doing fine. Their bug is down for the moment, BUT Jack's currently working on getting her back on the road. As memory serves me, they reserved their room upon last years check-in. I'll try and get back with him and get a definate.

I think we will keep Chipotle as the lunch in place. Al's right. It's fast, easy and really good food and tradition. lol So why not?!

I got a new job and was approved the time off for this GtG which I'm THRILLED about! So, I'll be in high spirits for sure!!! yay!
