Default Campin at the Top 2K12

Hello everyone I will be camping at the Top this year. I called the camp ground and was given a rate of $29 for two people and one pup. I also was told that it would be $2 per extra person. If you are interrested let me know and i will get with the top and try to get us all together. I think that it was be awesome to fill up like half the camp ground or more.

The camp ground is about $30 a night. This means that you can stay the hole weekend for the same price if not less than one night at the hotel. The camp ground is pet friendly like the hotel. They allow tent camping as well trailer and campers. We are still looking for a name nothing official maybe we can talk Al into making us some special name tags or some thing for us. If you are planing on staying please send me a pm so i can add you to the list. The managers number for the camp ground is1-828-507-2511 I believe that it is his cell phone. This number was given to me by the manager to the hotel. If you have any other questions you can pm me post or text me at (865) 228-4841. ( updated 1/30 )

Fuzzy, this is awesome news. Glad to hear you spearheading this untapped element of ToD!

It would be awesome to have a "beetle city" on the campground of The Top!

I agree Al. If we get a good group together that would be sweet but they told me that the sooner the better because that week end is the weekend that seasonal campers start coming back. I will need about a month in advance to try to get us together. They wanted me to get my sight today so the sooner the better.

Is there any tent camping or is it for campers only?
I was thinking that when I made my reservations at the top I asked about tent camping and they said it was campers only. I may be wrong LOL

Not sure I'd want to pull that grade with my beetle pulling our popup.

Im wondering the same thing. Can we use a tent or is it campers only? My TDI will have no problem pulling the trailer, its just braking.

I just got off the phone with the manager of the campground and they do allow tents . Also we will be in a group not spread around. We will have a fire pit and he said that it was not to far from the bath houses. I told him that I was kind of over the tents section and if he had any questions he should be getting with me. I have not reserved my sight yet but if you have any other questions the managers number is 1-828-507-2511 . That will take you straight to him.

Lets try to fill up the campground

This is good news. I guess I was mistaken. I'll think about bringing the popup but am keeping my room at the top. At least for now.

Whatever you guys do, do it quickly. Remember we're getting into their busy season, so reserving some spaces is a quick priority. I'm starting to see the camping thread promoted on other threads, so the sooner the better gang.

Bugstock 2012... be there

I'm glad you called for the tent sites... Now All I need to know is are they "pet friendly"? I have a VERY friendly smaller doggy and she HAS to go with me. Other Campgrounds accept pets... And have reasonable group rates. If This campground doesn't accept pets, Maybe we Orgers, with pets, can decide on one and get together!

I think they are pet friendly, based on this I found on the internet:

GREAT AMENITIES AT RIDGE TOP MOTEL & CAMPGROUND:
Onsite laundry
Outdoor pool
Air conditioning
Parking - free
Telephone
Air conditioning
Pets allowed
Pool
Free parking

Source: Ridge Top Motel & Campground in Bryson City, NC - Directions, Info & Reviews - Uptake.com

Hope this helps.

Sounds PERFECT! Thank you! I will still call to be sure because the campground's website doesn't mention tents or pets. Murphy's Law: Anything than can go wrong WILL go wrong! Cover your A$$ I always say...
