Default "How To" replace your Fog light bulbs.

PureTurbonium asked me where to find info on changing the bulbs in Fog lights - I suggested a couple threads and mentioned that if pictures were taken that it was definately a How-To that we should write up.

PureTurbonium emailed me a link to a really good How-To so I am merely transcribing that how-to in forum format....

Bulb type...
H1 55W - same as the low and high beam headlights

(Note this change was performed on a 2002 TDI)

note: no need to remove power cable !

Twist off back of fog light (standard right-hand-rule)

note: cable assembly will hold back of light up out of your way

Remove the wire connected to the bulb (black spade in this picture)

note: there is no need to remove the second wire (negative) connected to the bulb assembly just above the bulb

Release the spring clip that holds the bulb in place in the bulb assembly

note: the bulb is still seated in the bulb assembly

Insert new bulb and follow directions in reverse order

note: do not allow skin oil to touch bulb - handle bulb by its base
