Default Replacing antenna base?

I know I asked about this in another thread, but due to "stupid" subject line, it may not have grabbed peoples attention.

Is replacing the antenna base someone that a layperson can do? Are the ceiling and side panels/pillars pop-on/pop-offs, so that they are easy to remove so one can get to the antenna base from the underside?

It's not that hard. You have to drop the back portion of the headliner and that will expose the bottom of the antenna base and the wires that go from that to the radio. There is a single nut that holds the base in. Undo that and unplug the wires and you're set.

Just replaced the entire antenna on my wife's Jetta wagon, took like 2 minutes. Got it on E-Bay shipped for around $35: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fuba-...12438722QQrdZ1
