Two trains of thought.

Some like to put the stand where the swingarms meet the subframe, and then there are the jack points under the car. They are flat points near each fender. When I saw my vehicle up on the lift for the first time the tech had put the rubber feet of the jack inward on some solid places on the subframe, and the jack points "rested" on the arms of the lift. When I asked if that was the correct way, he just replied, " I don't know, this is the first time I have had one of these on a lift...

I strongly suggest that if you use jack stands, you use solid metal points where the "V" shaped stand feet won't damage the frame. Otherwise you will want to get some "flat feet" like on lifts in garages.

In front I place them under the large bolt that attaches the subframe to the body--this is near the rear of the suspension A-arms. In the back I put them under the point where the rear axle beam attaches to the car--the pivot point on both sides of car. NEVER put a jack or jackstand anywhere in between these points on the rear axle beam. I only like the jacking points when using the factory supplied jack--it has a slot to hold the "ridge" and I have seen those ridges bent (inviting rust) too many times to try any other jack there.

Can anyone post a pic with an arrow? I've just always been so nervous with the axle stands.
