Default FMIC for NB?

Has anyone found a bolt-on FMIC for the NB?

I like the Eurojet but it doesn't fit the NB, only the Mk4. ECS tuning has two options, but they don't specify if it is bolt-on, NB-specific, or anything (and it doesn't seem to even come with tubing/pipes)!

Really nice upgraded side-mount that is NB specific here:

http://www.tyrolsport.com/nbSMIC.html

Mostly NBs get dissed when it comes to performance parts specific to us.

Thanks, I only wish that they listed a PRICE on their website. I e-mailed them and hope to here from them on Monday.

I totally agree about getting dissed with a NB (damn those Golfs/Jettas/etc. All in good time though, it seems a lot of manufactures/fabricators have really given us the attention we demand.

One thing though, this IC is a SMIC, are their FMIC options. I've seen some pictures of NBs with FIMCs, but heck, those were cars that people poured at least 10K w/ after market parts/mods/bodywork!

Not many FMIC's fit on the NB with a stock bumper without having to hack up the grill. Not the best look, IMO. The Tyrolsport SMIC will bolt in and it works very, very well.

Mike from Tyrolsport should call you back. If not, email him. He's a good guy and he'll answer you.

The NBSMIC was built off of my car, and I have the first production unit. It works, period. Yes, I have tracked this car with the SMIC and I had consistant power for an entire day of racing, plus the 3-hr trip each way to get to and from Lime Rock. In fact, the 2 intercoolers pictured are both mine

Just FYI, New Beetles are Mk4's. However, most things were not designed to fit under the unique bumper shape of the NB.

The NBSMIC is about the same price as the Golf/Jetta/GTI smic, which is around $700. They use Bell intercooler cores and the end tanks are TIG welded. The installation is much easier than any FMIC and it will not block airflow to your radiator like a FMIC can.

Ditto on what Mike said. I'm the first "paying" customer with the TyrolSports SMIC and absolutely love it!!!

Fit's in like OEM and greatly increases flow and cooling. On the site you will see some information that challenges whether or not the FMIC is better than this SMIC.

Anyway's, definitely take a look and hopefully Mike will get back to you soon.

Thanks.....TechnoTrix'd....

On the Greddy Kit, did you have to mod the kit to fit or is it a true bolt-on?

Put on the MAP sensor, and cut the rebar back about 2 inches and your set. The n75 valve line comes pre-tapped

I've got GREDDY kit from Ptuning... about $900.00...
I'm running w/out a bumper now (will make fitting soon)
If u get this kit you will need to remove your air box....
Time to install... 2 1/2 people 4 hours and 2 case of 24pack beer..

The price for the Tyrolsport SMIC is the same as the Golf/GTI/Jetta. Best thing is to call them.

The Boost Factory SMIC is great, but will not fit the NB.

Made for the Golf/Jetta and not the Beetle. Sorry..

I looks like the price on the TyrolSport site is $789.00, but contact Mike first. He can provide you the best information on this.

Can't tell you how happy I am that I went with this SMIC verses the FMIC.
