Default 2007- Lights not stable after headlight removal

Hello,
I have put HID system on my 07 New beetle. At the first time, the lights were balanced unequally, so I adjusted the lights and when I put them back in, I drove around for a couple of weeks. Last night, I just noticed that one of the lights was coming on and off. First I thought that it was a problem with the HID system that I put on, but I found that it works fine when I push the headlight assembly towards in, but when I let it go, it turns off. Now, I looked inside of it and I found that the headlight assembly slides onto the rail thing and plugs into the harness, which I assume that it was plugged loose?
My question is, has anyone experienced this problem before? and how should I resolve this problem?

See if the ballast is grounded or touching metal. I had this problem (not pushing the assembly in) and it was the ballast grounding. Eventually, the ballast went died. Don't touch the ballast when energized. Use a stick.

Factory HID or aftermarket ballasts?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bent pin in the plug.Straightened the pin and OK since.

I checked the pins in the plugs, checked the ballasts and they are not touching the ground.
Hmm... could it be the adjusting screw that is not adjusted at the correct level on the plastic headlight base that can be seen after headlight removal held by 3 screws? I removed that part to mount ballast below that base, but not sure if that has anything to do with it.
It's very stressful..
