Default Anyone ever have a loose wire...

Last night while driving over to a friends house, I get this person flashing their lights at me while sitting at a stoplight. I have no idea why and continue on my way. However, when I was leaving the friends house, I notice the passenger headlight is not on while close to his garage door. OK.. never had to fix a headlight, the car is 7 years old... I'm sure I (and the previous owner) got its use out of it, time for a change. UNTIL we pull into our driveway and I see that it's ON.

Just wondering if this is something unique to my beetle or has anyone else had this experience. Also, I've looked up how to change them here on the forum and see it's some type of button I need to get to in order to remove the assembly if/when changing. Unfortunately both threads picture didn't show up for me so I'll just take their word for it.

These things definitely have a "short" problem somewhere in the headlight design...

I have had 4 or 5 "blown" headlights fixed by hitting the headlight or fender with some force.

I have tried to trace it down, to no avail...

My drivers side headlight overheated the connector right at the lamp causing the connector to be loose in turn causing more heat. I cut the wire off about an inch and soldered a new connector on. No more problems.

I had the same problem like you, as Sooner bug said look at the wire connector behind the headlight mine was burnt like his and I did the same repair about a week ago. I just wish they would give you a little more wire to work with, its still working a week later.
