Default Rear Upper Stress Bar?

Does anyone make a "Rear" Upper Stress Bar for the NB? Anyone have one, with any pics, comments, etc.?

I've only seen 2. Haven't gotten my hand on either. I think 1 was home made, dunno about the other.

Because of the placement in the hatch, it would block some of of your space. I'll keep my eyes posted though; personally I'd like one too.

There is a variant of this one available for the NB, looks a lot like that fitted to the RSi

I did a bit of research on this subject a few years ago, the reason that rear upper stress bars are so hard to find for the New Beetle is because the R&D Depts. of most large or well know performance accessory manufacturers have determined it to be unnecessary, this would only add weight with no real benefit.

Unlike other MKIV base models, the New Beetle is very rigid in the rear section and it was determined that a stress bar would lend little or no improvement in that area, unless you have a full race (trailer car), I would suggest either saving your money or applying it to more beneficial area.

That part is not even remotely designed for the New Beetle and will not work, as previously stated, the New Beetle does not require a rear upper or lower stress bar.
