I have a compustar 900FMR on my 2001 NB. Up here in AK, it's kinda a mandatory thing. In fact, all of the cars I own have them. I know someone on here said "just get in and deal with the cold for a few minutes"

Try that at -29... let me know how it works out.

Install was easy, but then again we have about 30 shops around town that can do it. You need the valet key and your Switchblade to make it work. You will not get the valet key back as they need it for the module.

Cost up here was about $1400 for the start... that's alot compared to my 2009 F150... $400.

The audio shop in my area says they don't do bugs because of the tight confines . It makes a job that is normally about an hour and a half and makes it four hours . Being a mechanic , I can understand this . I looked at doing it myself but just decided it wasn't worth it at the moment . Plus , I have seen too many cars come into my dealership with starting issues when the system starts to fail .

Thumbs up Car starter

Hi I had the whole nine instaled on the wife's nb.It is the viper auto start show's temp and alarm sys .I think it is the best.Remote work's up to 1 mile away, and yes it does. Also come's with a pager remote that will page you some one or something hit your car.I love it (for her)lol no more going out on cold night's to start for a few min's .Only thing is it has to be a pro install only.and it is worth it. also lowers car ins and viper will also repay you if the car is stolen .It was 500.00 with install but i got the top of the line.Best money i have spent

The engine will oil just fine at idle, even at cranking rpm (250 rpm for our cars).
It may be lower pressure but its not a firehose at idle like at WOT.
The fuel consumption is right at 0.39 l/hr at idle, which is almost nothing. I remember it being 2tsp/min someone calculated on tdiclub.

I agree with Matt423, at the end of the day it's your toy to do as you please. Just remember that the one who dies with the most toys .. still dies
