Default Headlight OEM # 1C0 941 005H

Hi, we have a VW Beetle 2005 Convertible and we need a new headlight assembly OEM # 1C0 941 005H we have looked everywhere and we can only find the original manufactuer part which is $600 plus, does anyone know where we can buy a compatible replacement headlight assembly for this we have just sent back a model with the 3-pin connector as that did not fit, we need the 8/9 pin connector as on the attached picture, I have also attached a picture of the label from the broken headlight assembly. Any input would be appreciated.

What part on yours is broken? I have a few OEM HID's that I've parted out and I have quite a bit of stuff.

It is the lens that came off, the retaining clips are broken that hold the lens on so I was looking to get the complete assembly OEM # 1C0 941 500H

Is the e-code OEM kit available on eBay such as this one (seller claims it to be ecode in our correspondence) bixenon oem kit capable of being wired into the 3 wire harness such as the 2001 has? Also does the ecode headlight fit properly into the US bug?

I've been wondering this myself. I'd love to see a PDF version of those "instructions" it comes with.

I contacted one of the guys who purchased one of those kits and he is sending me the manual so I can see what is involved. His was not a retro fit but a replacement of his OEM HIDs in his 2004. He said they were perfect.

we put a set in a Michelle's 02 beetle last fall...fit perfect but if you don't have a firm understanding of wiring I would not recommend doing it by yourself... we had a wiring genius helping us.

I answered this question in his other thread with a link to Probie. He was wondering about the connector. I told him to ask Michelle and that she would be more than willing to tell him all about it.

Did you get the automotive lighting retro fit kit that has the adapters and harness with ballasts that some are selling on fleabay? As long as there is a schematic ill be fine for the wiring.
How was the leveling part achieved?

yeah but the adapters were not for the 3 wire plugs.. they went from the 5 pin to a 8 pin if i recall correctly. yes it was a retro fit from E-bay. Schematics were hard to come by also. Check out Probies thread... never mind I see you already posted on it

Probies thread did not yield much on the subject at least technically. Perhaps Bentley will help. I have the book.

Hey boertje, I think you contacted me on ebay, I hope you are able to get the info you are looking for on here! If you make a custom harness let me know how it goes. Like I said I have a Turbo S so I think mine are going to plug right in but i have my doubts!

Yup, it was me. As I get the parts and attempt to install it, I will take some pics in the process. I think I will scan and PDF the hand out that comes with the kit in case others have questions in the future.
