i think they make modifications you can buy to adapt the car to have a different oil removal process. not too sure about the filter. Someone will know.

I have the older dieselgeek steel plate. and yes, it totally blocks access to the oil filter. It is held on th the frame in front with 2 bolts that are attached to arms that were added during the install, and the rear attached with 3 bolts to the subframe (the giant black metal peice that the center tranny/engine mount is bolted to), and 6 torx screws, 3 on each side attaching it to the factory plastic side panels.

And i totally reccomend getting a metal skid plate. It is 100% worth it, and the newer version is alot lighter (it is a pita to get mine off) and it has a higher ground clearence (i'm not lowered, and i bottom out going out of my driveway unless i c r w a l), and i'm at stock height.

So if your worried about something hitting your oil pan, get teh panzer plate, it's gonna pay for itself (and then some) the frist time you hit something. If your worried about oil change places having trouble changing your oil, you can take it off before you get it changed i guess.

It would cost you way more than that if you busted your oil pan and had to get it fixed.

The dieselgeek aluminum skidplate (old version) has saved my engine on more times than I care to remember. It is worth every single cent plus taking it off when I need the change the oil.

Best thing I ever did for my car!

I have the older skid plate, and it is well worth it.
I take it off for the oil changes, it takes a whole extra 10 minutes or so. The remote oil valve is not a bad idea, but I'd rather just stick to the stock oil plug myself.

The new panzer plate looks good, however I like the fact that the older one I have is able to let air flow in/out of the engine area. It gets hot enough in there as it is.

Oh, the Dieselgeek steel plate hangs down about an inch below the bottom of the oilpan, so if you're lowered, you'll scrape on ant's heads.

Like I said before, my aluminum one has taken a few good hits. Get one and don't look back!
