I can't remember - is there someone that makes the relay wiring DZLBG? Thought I saw a link the other day. This is really a confusing topic

I will look at DZLBug's "Everything you need to know about HID and how they should be installed and where to get them" How-to so they are done perfectly...wait...he has not made one, but tells us what not to do ;-)
Sorry, I have not had the time or patience to devote to that. But if you look at my post above, I linked to what you need on ebay. If you can install an HID kit you can certainly do the retrofit as I did. The only extra work it requires is to disassemble the headlight (self-explanatory) and to swap out the projectors. Its not hard.

Antoine-
That DDM site has some relay kits available, though I have no idea what their quality is or exactly how they are setup. If you know how to splice and solder, its not hard to do it yourself. I'll try to put up some more info on it soon.

i do believe the e46 doesn't have bi-xenons as they have dual rounds.

could be wrong though, i will reaearch.

i just scored some headlights for the jetta with hid-ready projectors that take h1's. with halogens, the beam is WAY off, but with hid's...much better.

Correct. There are some 2.5" bixenons, Infiniti FX/G35 I believe. They would take some more work to fit and to wire, but there are possibilities. Its a pretty big projector, so I'm not sure if they'll fit.

Been wanting to do this for a while and the DDM Tuning kit just looks amazing for the price...but I do want to get the proper projectors if they are compatible.
Like DZLBUG said, go with the 35W kit. The first kit I got was a Slim Ballast 55w kit but it seemed too bright so I went back and got a 35w kit(Slim Ballast) Both 5000K's. As far as relay kits go, I didn't use one and I haven't had any problems with the wiring and I'm going on a year with it and I do alot of night driving.

I got e46 projectors and the DDM kit I got is 100% compatible with the projectors. I just have yet to install them because I'm having trouble finding a gasket/grommet that will fit the hole I drilled on the rear headlamp cover for the H1 HID kit

Sweet! Time for another project.

Maybe I'll do a write-up on this one.

The h7 projector is going to be bigger, because of a bigger bulb correct? As your comparing a h7 projector vs a h1 projector. The smaller audi TT HID projector is not far off in size from the beetles h1 projector is it?
