Default deposits

I accept paypal, but I want to see how serious people are before I start collecting deposits. I don't want to have to make refunds if we don't get enough interest.

I agree, keep it as high as possible.

Not sure I see how it will interfere with the hatch cover, seems to me it will bolt infront of this.

somebody rip your rear door panels off, move your seats and take a ton of pics. Send them to bruce and post them here. So we can get a better understanding of this.

Would like to know if this is gonna be a 1 time run-of production also?

Default production run

It is hard to determine if this will be a one time deal or not. It really depends on interest on the forums. One thing is certain, if there is not enough initial interest I cannot produce a UNIbrace for your application.

Regarding the hatch, it is quite critical to me that a UNIbrace works with the seats up or down and the hatch cover in place. This is not intended to replace a cage, but to give significant reinforcement for the daily driver and occasional track user. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

I just sent some pics to Bruce for his reference.

Chime in if you have any thoughts.
> This would allow us NB owners to retain the ability to keep prying eyes away from what is in our hatch. If this doesn't drastically affect the performance of the UNIbrace it would be a good balance. My Bug is my daily, but I DO use the hatch every day and don't have the option to store the contents elsewhere in the car. Also if we had the ability to retain rear seats that would rock: 95% of the time I am the only occupant but I do occasionally haul a couple of extra bodies around

My suspension setup is as stiff as I would want to go for street/occasional track, but I've always felt that there is something that needs doing with the rear, other than shock adjustment.

Absolutely. Retaining use of the seats in both up and folded positions as well as hatch cover is essential. If you are unfamiliar with the UNIbrace, please check out Unibrace or Jcaps-online for images. JCapsOnline.com - (UNIbrace) Rear Stress Brace.

Still waiting on some images from you guys :-)

I've got over four feet of snow and it looks to be some time before I could get some pics. Anyone else?

For custom orders such as this I will need a 50% deposit before starting.

What I need are accurate photos so I can begin the design work. Mel has given me an overall shot, but what I still need are:
1. An overall photo with the plastic interior panels removed. This is the area where the seat latches are.
2. Closeups of the seat latch areas also with the plastic parts removed.

If people are really interested and haven't yet done so, I need them to contact me via email so I have their full contact info.

I would like to know if you as NB owners want this to be higher and thereby more structurally effective or lower (more flexible for using the hatch). As a performance oriented person my preference is for the former, but I want to hear from the NB people. What would you like to see? Bruce

He needs the pics to move forward. The linked pics in my post unsuprisingly didn't cut it.

There is still a ton of snow here and more is supposed to fall this weekend.Garage space is taken, I'm not doing this outside in the snow.

We need to start a list of who is actually willing to pay:
1. Mel72349--WILL $$
2. natasha.noble@............com (sorry I don't know your user name)
3. hollywoodsbug
4. SMG--WILL $$
5. pm22071895--WILL $$
6. sublow
7. shawny
8. nashman28
9. ed999
10. norcalturbobug
11.turbos03
12. nbgls!
13. beetlethis

I'm ready to paypal and vote for higher unibrace

I would be interested in this also, but living in N Ireland, price for brace + postage would need to be set.

The UNIbrace for the NB will definitely be a higher version. That is why I need a straight on shot with the plastic panels removed so I can ask for accurate measurements. As for "building it and they will come" I can only undertake this if there is sufficient interest. The time commitment to develop a new product is not insignificant so I need you guys to commit to this, sorry.

As for Northern Ireland, the cost of the MkIV/MkV UNIbrace shipped to the UK is ~US$355.00 so I imagine it will be equivalent.
