Default Cruise control...

I've looked all thru my Bentley manual regarding a fuse for the cruise control and have found nothing. No relays or fuses at all. This leads me to believe that the cruise control is part of another module like the comfort/convenience module. I suggest a VAG-COM scan by your VW service tech. to check and see if it is a part of this other module. At any rate, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Sometimes just calling the parts department and asking for a replacement fuse for the CC might cause them to answer with more info like, "It doesn't have a separate fuse". or if it does they may be able to tell you where it is.. Good luck, JK

Side note, if you need to get a scan of your system for errors, most of your local parts shops like Schucks auto parts, and places like that, will check your system for free. VW usually charges for that sort of thing.

Just thought I'd mention

thank you both so much for your answers. I took it to autozone to get the codes read the only one was for my coolant sensor I believe. So i will be purchasing that from ecs soon.

Also Sorry for all of the questions. Judy has been making some weird sounds about 2000 rpm like the exhaust is loose or something but when I got my oil change done at a independent dealership, they said my power steering hoses were leakinga little. Does anyone have any ideas?

Default possible PS leak...

I would wipe all the hose connections and hoses of any fluid, make sure the reservoir is at the correct level and check the tightness of the hose connections. After doing that wait and see where and if any leaks start appearing. I prefer VW's hydraulic fluid that they use for the PS system. It's not expensive and is available from your local VW parts department. It's compatible with all the inner seals, etc. inside the rack and the pump. JK

cruise control is a codeable option, I belive its in the ecm, all you have to do is turn it on, my guess is at some point someone had to replace or re flash the ecm and didnt program the cruise, even I have forgot on custs cars at times, its easy to forget.
