Default Turbo Upgrade

Hello Everyone,

I have recently acquired a 2000 New Beetle GLX 1.8T last November. Ever since, I've maintained/replaced a couple of things, but I still haven't got the power that I wanted. I did all the maintenance such as timing belt/water pump, clutch/flywheel replacement, brake pads/rotors, ngk iridium spark plugs, bremi coil packs, revo technik stage 1, bosch 4-bar fuel pressure regulator, and some other gimmicks such as blitz sbc boost controller, megan racing turbo-back exhaust (2.5in), megan racing boost, water temp, oil temp gauges, FK Streetline coilovers, HKS SQV, and an AFE intake. But I still don't feel the power that my NB deserves.

So I've decided that I shall go BT. Now for all of you that have done that before, what kit should I go for and what shall be added to my NB (such as fmic, clutch, brakes)? I want to make a good reliable 350hp crank (approx. 300whp). Hope all your expertise will help out my NB.

So I finally got my hands on a turbo kit. I decided to go with the ATP Eliminator2 GT2871R kit with the ATP 3" inlet pipe. Now I'm wondering what kind of intercooler should I run with it and what kind of ECU tune should I go for? Just for an add-up, my car is currently with 101k miles ...

Tyrolsport makes a nice upgraded SMIC that performs as well as any FMIC, especially if you have a vented fender liner. Front mounts don't look very good with stock bumpers, and they cut airflow across your radiator and condenser. You'll also want upgraded piping between the turbo and intake.

Yeah, I'd vote Tyrol Sport SMIC;

paired up w/a Unitronics ECU software program.

I'm not sure why i'm the only person i've seen mount their front mount behind the bumper support. I haven't tried fitting the stock bumper, but i'm betting it'd fit as my Votex has a lot of room to spare. Granted i am only running 2" charge pipes.

I had to cut absolutely nothing.

the tyrol heatsoaked on my old elim 28rs, 71r will soak it faster.

the fmic in the above pic looks small, but fmics do fit much better behind votex and turbo s bumpers.

I know they fit better behind them, but i still see people chopping up the S bumpers. If i didn't have my Votex attached to the fenders already i'd fit it with the stock bumper, i'm 90% sure it'd fit the way i have my front mount on.

So last Thursday I went on ebay and bought the Godspeed FMIC. I also bought 2.5 pipes for it. I was thinking of keeping my stock bumpers. But since people are saying that the fitment won't be flush, what bumper should I seek for? Also, I bought the turbo kit used from a member in vwvortex forum with 530cc injectors, and it's in excellent condition. I bought the ATP 3" Inlet pipe from the website and I'm planning to go with Unitronic or GIAC custom tune. I've done stage 1 with Revo and I can say that I'm not pleased with it. It was boosting at 5psi and I changed my coilpacks. After I swapped it, it was boosting up to 10psi w/ some spikes up to 15psi which I programmed with my Blitz SBC Color boost controller, but somehow it would cut the boost back to 9psi. Don't know what's wrong as of now, but definitely not going back with Revo.
