Default Trailer Hitch Installer

Hey Folks - I want to add a trailer hitch to my 2009 NBC, not to tow anything but to haul Mountain Bikes. My question is, has anyone done this? If so who installed it? I am thinking of going through Uhaul & having them install it, is that a safe bet or have they messed up this type of thing before?

Installing a hitch is fool proof, it took me like 10 minutes.

The only thing anyone has to look out for is drilling a hole in the spare tire...ask me how i know.

I'd say it's a waste of money if you're not looking to tow anything, but i can bet you'll rent a trailer from U-haul on occasions or buy one. I bought one, it's awesome basically having a pick-up truck when i need it.

Good to know; I'm saving up my pennies for a Bushtec Roadstar motorcycle trailer for long-haul camping vacation.

I just installed a Curt hitch yesterday. I bought it on Ebay for $137 delivered. Me and a buddy put it on, and it took less than an hour from when we decided to do it, till the last tool was put away…

The worst part was drilling holes in the spare tire well. If that makes you nervous, you might want to have someone else install it.

Here is a video that shows exactly what the installation looks like.

I also installed the hitch just for a bike rack, so I haven’t added any wiring for trailer lights, but I can always do that later.

Keep in mind this is a one inch receiver, so you would need to look for a compatible bike rack, some of the big ones are for two inch receivers.
