Default Spacers on stock 16s?

Just dropped the little guy and not that the vertical wheel gap is taken care of, I want to do something for the side to side wheel gap.

considering bugs are more symmetrical than golfs and jettas, to beetle guys often get identical width spacers for the front and rears? I was thinking 15s all around, but i don't know jack shiznit about this stuff yet lol.

I'll post pics of the drop soon too, gotta keep everyone waiting

Measure out 15 mm (about 19/32") from where your wheel sits now and see if thats where you want em! I've got 17x7 with +40mm offset and gonna use 25mm spacer in back and 15 front. that should get me almost flush with the fenders. The wheels on NBs are tucked more in the back than the front if you are using stock wheels. Basically if you use the same size spacer front and rear, you will end up with more "poke" (wheels will stick out more) out front.

Setting the rear wheels even with the front wheels negatively effects handling, its like that for a reason.

Are you saying that the front should be wider than the rear for better handling??

Ideally to get things to sit exactly where you want, measuring is going to be the best option. I typically suggest customers stay a few mm's shy of the maxiumum measurement to prevent rubbing issues. We do have a selection of spacers available that can be found here on the website:

Cool

I don't think someone who is an everyday driver would even notice the difference in understeer from a wider rear track. So I guess it depends on the person, are you spacing for looks or racing?

ok, that discussion aside,
to get an equally "wide" (although with stock rims i don't wanna be poking, that's kinda poserish without actually wide wheels, i just want flush with the fender) stance i'd maybe want 15mm in the front and 20mm in the back? or something to that effect?

About what is the mm difference between the front and backs?

The difference in front and rear track on a new beetle is 14mm (9/16"). The front is 1508mm and the rear is 1494mm. As far as which size to get, that is your preference. But like I said before, the best way for you to decide is measure from where your sidewall is now, to where you want your sidewall to be. I'm GUESSING 10mm front and 20mm rear? Measuring is the best way, period.

Your preference. I personally have not seen stock wheels with that combo so I couldn't say 1 way or another. Bust out your handy tape measure and see where YOU want them. But as you stated before, you didn't want poke, and I believe you're gonna have some pokage with 30s. Measure measure measure!

I want to put old school 5x205 stocks on my 01 NB. I found a company that can custom make adaptors for me but I was wondering how thick I should have them made to clear the brakes or if this whole prodject is even a good idea.
