Default Can't start the car with 2nd key

so I got 3 keys (with remote) when I bought used beetle.

I wanted to use unused keys.

the remote worked fine. when I turn the ignition, the car starts for a sec and dies.
so I switched the key from the old one, but it happens again.

so I think I should do something with the remote.

what's the problem?

Sounds like you need to reprogram the key(s) to the car. Its not a remote issue. Look in your owners manual for key programming instructions.

Those keys aren't registered on the immobilizer. You will need to take your car to a Vw Dealership and pay a $60-120 fee to have them all reprogrammed to work with the car. Make sure you take all of your keys with you.

The owners manual is good for reprograming the remote for the alarm. This is an issue with the Immobilizer.
