Default Ultra-Gauge.com

In another thread, bettle765 mentioned an alternative gauge to the ScanGauge known as the Ultra-Gauge (see UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool)...

The price at the time was $39.95! Now it's $59.95. Anyway, at that price I thought I'd give it a look, even though I already own a ScanGauge.

It came in yesterday. It's great! And at only 37% the price of a ScanGauge...

The Ultra-Gauge touts "74 possible gauges," depending on your make and model of car. My 2004 NBC 1.8T supported the following gauges:

· Open/Closed Loop Emissions Status
· Percent Engine Load
· Engine coolant temperature
· Short Term Fuel Trim Bank 1
· Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 1
· RPM
· MPH
· Ignition Timing Advance
· Intake Air Temperature
· Mass Air Flow Sensor output in grams/sec
· Absolute Throttle Position Percentage
· Bank 1 Oxygen Sensor 2 Voltage
· Mass Air Flow 2, Calibrated/Calculated
· Instantaneous Miles Per Gallon (MPG)
· Average Miles Per Gallon (MPG)
· Average Miles Per Hour (MPH)
· Average Gallon Per Hour (GPH) - general
· Run Time - general
· Distance - general
· Fuel Used - general
· Intantaneous Gallons Per Hour (GPH)
· Fuel Tank Gallons Remaining
· Distance to Empty(DTE)
· Time to Empty (TTE)
· Volumetric Efficiency (MAP vehicles only)
· Average MPH - trip
· Average MPG - trip
· Fuel Used Gallons- trip
· Average Gallon Per Hour (GPH) - trip
· Run Time -trip
· Distance - trip
· Oil Distance
· Service Distance
· UltraGauge Temperature

Here are a couple of photos of it installed in my car:

Does it monitor volts?
Display error codes & clear them?

UltraGauge not only displays all current vehicle trouble codes but also codes for potential or intermittent faults. With UltraGauge, checking engine codes is easy. UltraGauge also proactively scans for trouble while you are driving and alerts if trouble is found.

UltraGauge uses the same fundamental technology that automotive mechanics use and can display all current vehicle trouble codes. Eliminate the hassle, time and expense of taking your vehicle to an automotive repair center. Repair centers charge $50 or more to read trouble codes.
Avoid faults that can lead to expensive and untimely break downs.

Many states are now eliminating the need for traditional tailpipe-based smog testing and are moving to examining trouble codes to determine the emission status of vehicles. By knowing your vehicle has no existing or pending trouble codes, your vehicle is likely to pass with ease.

Check Engine Light on?
No problem !
UltraGauge can also turn off that annoying check engine light !

The Ultra-Gauge doesn't seem to monitor volts on my car, although the ScanGauge does, so I know the Beetle supports it.

It does display error codes and clears them.

dude that sucks, i was just about to pull the trigger on one of these but have grown very worrysome of my alternators so I like to moniter volts.

I have 2 scangauges and they both moniter the volts, but would like a little variety and thought maybe this would go in my third bug.

I'll email them to see if they can answer specifically. they probable won't.

Yeah, there's a rebate form via USPS, and some user data you have to send them via Internet.

Hm... according to the gauge info on the site...it does support voltage. That should pretty much be usable on any car since it is plugging into your electrical supply in order to work.

Sounds reasonable, but...Battery Voltage isn't showing up on my menu. I wish it did. The actual number of the available 74 gauges varies from car to car. Mine can access 34 out of the 74.

I'm interested in it because it tells you this. But i'm wondering how accurate these are? I'd be afraid if it said Time to empty, 60seconds and at 0 the car clunks out...

Great alternative to a scanguage, anyone tried it on metric units? The website says no metric.

This looks cool tho if you have an android powed phone you can get a app I beleave it is called torque the pic is of a cel. you need to buy a 15 to 20 $ blue tooth plug for your OBD2 plug and everytime you get in you car it will sink and show about the same stuff. It is free or there is a 5$ one that has more. Just letting you know what i have found. I have not tested this i was looking for when i got my droid. If someone testes it please let me kno how it works.

I have an ultra gauge and must say that I love it. I mostly like the correct MPH and engine temp. Other then that it works well and so far has been used for about 4 months with no issues what so ever.
