Default steering question

I was wondering what year golf and jetta steering knuckles fit our cars?I have a bad bearing on the right front, but have a chance to get a knuckle from a wrecked 2001 GTI..(hit in the rear)engine and trans are already out of the car,but they left the suspension intact.Thanks!!....p.s. I already did a search on the web,and here with no results....keep on buggin...

I'm assuming yours is a 2.0?

TDI's and 2.0 have 280mm brakes. 1.8T's (like that 2001 GTI) and VR6 cars have 288mm brakes. So for a direct bolt-on with no other mods, you would be looking for any A4 chassis (98-current NB, or any MK4 Jetta/Golf) with a TDI or 2.0 engine.

Now if you grab the calipers, carriers and knuckles from both sides off that GTI, and get new pads/rotors (order for the same car) then you can have the upgraded brakes on your car. If the pads/rotors that are on there look good, just run them until they wear out.

Just adding a little more info to what you perfectly said.

The A4, aka mk4, Chassis Jetta was 1999.5-2005 and the mk4 Golf was 1999.5-2006.
