Default Detached knob on mirror control

I recently bought my daughter a 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle. The knob that controls the side mirror is detached or broken. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Hey, thanks a bunch!...One question, mine looks like the one for the manual operated windows.(Volkswagen New Beetle 1.8T > Interior > Switches > ES#4228 Driver's Side Mirror Switch - 1J1959565B01C) Even my original vehicle manual shows the same side mirror as I pictured. My vehicle has power windows. Was there a model change since 2000? Which side mirror switch should I get?

The passat one with the mirror fold option is the one you need if you have power windows. It works on all models (except 98 beetles), it's just cheaper for some reason. I put one in my bug and it was fine.

I was crusing the ebay site and found this side mirror switch for the Volkswagen New Beetles and Golf.

What you think? Anyone with experienced with these? Are they the same parts as the parts house or dealer?
