Default 2010 NB heated steering wheel

I heard the final edition new beetles come with a vw beetle steering wheel that is HEATED! I wonder, if i change out the clock spring, wheel and airbag and add a fuse and the switch, if i could add this to my earlier 2003 convertible. anyone aware of this option or added it?

That is awesome! If you figure it out definitely let me know how. I've always dreamed of having a heated steering wheel!

I did a quick search online. I'll bet you everything that VW wouldn't produce new versions of several parts just to offer a new feature on an outgoing model. It just doesn't sound like VW to me.

I heard, from a friend who has one (of course she's always f'n with me, so at this point, I only consider it hearsay), that her Ford Something or Other, has texting built into the steering wheel.

My God, Girl, if that's true, and you'll pay for the parts, I'll volunteer to do the heavy mod to Gloria for nothing, which will take care of that texting problem, and selfishly on my part, allow you to stay in touch with me, the one and only time of day your not currently able to be on here, when your driving...

And you know, I'll check with her and see if her steering wheel is also heated, wouldn't that be something, texting AND heat. Your aforementioned dream, would, without a doubt, how shall I say this, turn ah, uh, no, never mind...

No, and don't ANYBODY ELSE go there!

Hahaha I love everything about this post. But really, I honestly don't text and drive. I signed Oprah's contract, I couldn't diss Oprah like that.

GUESS WHAT! My bf and I are going to start working on my car soon! We don't know anything about cars (well I don't Kenny knows a little) we're going to start with painting my interior, thankfully kenny's dad is a professional painter and kenny works with him daily so he'll know how to do this (I HOPE)

Ah yes, but they don't say anything about a 2010.5 Model? all the cars 2001 and below thought they'd never see the day of swiveling cup holders but my 2001.5 bug has just that!

Yayyyy! I'm so happy. For those of you who are too lazy to click on the link and read... I'll Highlight it for you

VEHICLE HIGHLIGHTS

The 2010 Volkswagen New Beetle lineup gains a pair of special-edition trim levels for what will likely be its final model year in its current design. This 4-passenger, retro-styled car comes as a 2-door hatchback or convertible (see separate report) in Base and new Final Edition and Red Rock trim levels. The only engine for all is a 150-horsepower 2.5-liter 5-cylinder. The Base hatchback is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. All Final Edition models are only offered with the automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and front-side airbags. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on all. A sunroof is optional, and 17-inch wheels are optional on the Base. The New Beetle Final Edition and Red Rock come with 17-inch wheels, and specific paint, interior, and exterior trim.

I still don't think it's true. HowStuffWorks isn't exactly a premier source of automotive information.

Here's the 2010 NB Brochure:

http://www.vw.ca/etc/medialib/vwcms/...beetle2009.pdf

Second to last page at the bottom is the specs on the steering wheel. The 3 features are:

•*3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel
• Height-adjustable and telescopic steering column
• Theft-deterrent steering column

I'm sorry but you and HowStuffWorks are wrong.
