Just curious as to has anyone ever ran or herd of anyone running dual carbs on the new beetles?

Nope. Why bother. F.I. is the way to go. IMO

I know F.I is the way to go but i was just wondering and also i love the sound of dual carbs.

Yes sir! I ran a set of 44mm dellorto's on my 71 beetle With a 1835 I built and it would run 90mph easy in 3rd and sounded SOOOOOOOOOOO good through those dual 44s!

I know people have done ITB's on older 8v and 16v motors... i don't think i've seen it done to an AEG yet, but i'm pretty sure they had to go to standalone engine management, and if you have drive by wire, you'll a new gas pedal with a throttle cable to do so. (you'd have to do so to go carb'd too)
