Default Problems with 2,0 8V Turbo

Hi

I have some problems with my engine. In Germany there are not many 2.0 Turbo on the street, so i ask here for some help.

The engine stopped working. We searched for the mistake in the electric and the engine. Mechanic all correct, but the cable from my air-mass sensor is broken.

Please, if someoe have the 2.0 turbo like me, could you take of the cable from the air-mass-sensor for an moment and write if the engine stops or not?

I repaired the cable, the engine works. But the feeling when i will get the full power is not so good. The engine cogs...

Maybe some other sensors are working not correctly, the Lambda-sensor 1 is changed but nothing is better.

Greetings from Germany

Christian

(my english is not as good as it shoult be, please excuse me...)

We don't have the 2.0T New Beetle here in the states. We have the 1.8L Turbo instead.

Do you have a check engine light on?

Sounds like you need a VAG-COM scan to see what sensors aren't communicating with the engine. Could be a melted wire or something.

My 2.0T runs fine with the MAF unplugged but since there isn't a lot of redundancy in an aftermarket turbocharged car (MAP, etc), it is very important that the MAF and primary O2 sensor are plugged in and working correctly to get the best possible air / fuel mixture.

OK, then must be something wrong. If at my car the MAF is unplugged, the engine stops. Maybe the potentiometer of the choke-valve is broken that the motormanagement can't get informations. Normaly if the MAF is unplugged the management will get informations from the choke-valve.

Shurely i worked with the VAG-COM: the mixture is too lean and low signal Lambda 1: Lambda 1 is changed... Now i change the MAF and then eventually the choke-valve.

Thank you, SMG

@Smileybug: Never Volkswagen was building an 2.0 8V Turbo Beetle. I know that, i work in the Factory for over 26 years in Germany!!! Some Tuning-men, TTP for example, created an turbo kit for this lovely engine. Most of this kits went over the atlantic, only a few kits are here in Germany. So i know no german 2.0 turbo driver at all.
