Default 2003 NB Windows Binding

On the 03, the windows will bind when rolling up. When rolling it up, the window will start slowing down and then the motor will reverse the window all the way down. This is most prevalent on the passenger, but the driver's side does it, too, but neither window does it 100% of the time.

Any thoughts as to what this problem is and how to go about fixing it?

Thanks!

The cables and tracks are probably dry and need new lithium grease. It shouldn't have much binding at all, when there's a lot of friction the auto stop/down is activated because its the same thing as sticking an arm in there while the window is going up. At least that's what the motor thinks.

Silicone spray applied to the front and rear weatherstripping guides. Worked like a charm for me. Also, check the inner grooves to see if the actual weatherstripping is peeling away.

Good luck!!!

Weatherstripping looks fine. In fact, now that you mention it, I can hear some squeaking as the window rolls up and I thought it was from the weatherstripping. Maybe not?

As Bugstuff said, silicone spray. Fixes it every time. I have to do it about once a year.

Spraying the seals/trim didn't do the trick for me. I wound up pulling the door panels and removing the two large rubber grommets. That allows access to the regulator tracks so you can spray them directly. The grommets are circled in the picture.
