Question Glowshift sending unit question

Hey org! I got a couple questions if ya'll have a minute. I am going to purchasing a Glowshift 3 guage set(water temp, volt, and oil pressure). I guess the easiest method of install is to use their sending unit T-fittings for the oil, and water? My question is this, what size thread adapters do I need for this install? The T-fittings is a 3 way 1/8 npt thread. Here is a link to items Gauge Thread Adapters I see they offer a oilcooler adapter. But, don't know about building up all those layers between the block, and filter And the water, is it just easier to purchase the adapter that you cut into your radiator hose? I figure I would ask the seasoned veterans on the org. Thanks for any help.

Sure, you COULD cut into your hose, but in my opinion that's not the best option. Cutting is NEVER an option, lol

42 Draft Designs makes a really awesome CNC milled adapter that bolts directly onto the car between the factory coolant flange and the head.

I bought it for myself after confirming with 42 Draft Designs, AND VW, AND Glowshift that this is the correct part =)

42 Draft Designs makes some awesome parts, quality stuff. Also, if you GET this part, since you'd be under the car, I'd recommend maybe replacing your thermostat, since it's in that location. Unless your thermostat has been done already.

My thermostat went out and I started blowing water all over, so I have a new one in already (boy the labor on that was expensive at VW). But I'm getting my adapter put in next month and finally will have my gauges in, with my custom painted pod

Question

That looks pretty cool. I'll check into that!
Still wondering about the oil sender though. Here is the T-fitting:

1/8 NPT T Fitting Adapter

Here are the thread adapters:

1/8 NPT Female Thread Adapters

I guess my question is, what size threads is the factory oil sending unit? I will have to adapt to the factory hole, then adapt back to re-attach the factory sender to the T-fitting LOL. Hope this is not confusing I guess I could also just abandond the factory sender and just use the new glowshifter sender. I kinda like the fale safe of using both though. Will abandoning the factory sender throw CEL's???

Much thanks for any help org!

Well...kinda crappy picture, but it was getting dark. This is the 42 Draftdesigns oil sender relocator kit. Don't bash because of the tie wrap LOL. That's just a temp solution until I get the mounting bracket made. I'm going to mount the bracket to the back of the fan housing support. It should be fine, as there is no vibration to worry about. FYI if these kits are used, you only have about 4" of slack on the factory sender to work with without splicing the wire. Although, the relocator has a 12" hose that gives you a little more potions for placement. I did not have to splice mine where it is now, and think the location will be just fine.
