Spring rates will be higher on the VR6 springs so the ride will be a little harsher with a lighter front end. If there was no noticeable difference they wouldn't make 4cyl and 6cyl versions of the same springs. Also keep in mind that lowering springs will kill your stock shocks pretty quickly. My stock rear shocks blew out about a month after I lowered my TDI. I had new Koni Yellows sitting here but it rode fine for a while so I didn't bother installing them until the stock rears blew out.
