Cool performance air filters

my wife has a 2005 nb convertible ,with a 2.0l engine.has anyone installed a performance air filter such as a k&n filter?are they worth it as far as performance or milage increase?thanks.

IMHO If you are in a high dust/pollen area and change air filters regularly you will do better with a K&N and filter maintenance kit cost wise over the long haul. If however you do not REGULARLY MAINTAIN the K&N filter you will lose and engine early.

Performance wise you will not notice a difference - again in my experience.

If your talking about a "performance" filter to replace the standard, don't waste your money. If your talking about the washable cotton variety, they are a PITA, don't waste your money, if your talking about a high performance intake kit, you don't have a high performance engine, don't waste your money. IMO

You'll be cleaning the K&N weekly to get any gains, I like itg foam filters much more fit & forget
