Default Save $$ on on oil

Wanted to pass along a sale I found at Pepboys on motor oil.

- 5 Quarts of Royal Purple + oil filter = $40
- 5 Quarts of Mobil 1 + oil filter = $29.99

Find your closest Pepboy store Pep Boys Store Locator & Local Store Information Pep Boys Stores and verify this in the Local Store Ad (I've used various zip code and same Ad came up)

Gonna snag the Royal Purple deal and give my car (still nameless) a good oil change since I recently drove her over 2000 miles in 3 days.

Yeah, not a fan of Mobil 1 either, have seen oil analysis from a few pricey cars that have failed at very low mileages, common factor = mobil 1 so I don't tend to use it. Not sure what oil the beetle place would have put in him when the previous owner last had work done so I'm going to be happier knowing it's got some decent fully synthetic oil in and a new filter & plugs won't go a miss either!

After that, air pump fix (hopefully) and new front suspension he'll be a different car!

Mobil1 > Royal Purple

Hype > Royal Purple

Ran our diverse fleet over 5,500,000 hard-use miles exclusively on Mobil 1 with never ever a failure. Can't say the same about RP (Google "Royal Purple complaints" or "Royal Purple issues") and amongst the "I love it so" posts, you'll find plenty of detractors. Just sayin'...

Here's a VERY INTERESTING oil test review:

http://www.animegame.com/cars/Oil%20Tests.pdf

The only thing about this deal at Pepboys is that they don't carry 5W40 in R.P. so I got 5W30 which is what I normally put in all my vehicles.

Here's a good review of Royal Purple's filters to debunk an internet anti-R.P. myth
