Default What would be better? New radio or cd changer

I have a 99 beetle. It only has a tape player, but there is a plug in the trunk Im pretty sure is for a cd changer. What would be better to get a new radio/cd player and dash kit to replace the old radio OR to get a cd changer for the trunk and keep the radio that is in it? I just want to be able to play my cd's. what is your opinion? Thanks

Keep the radio and buy this
That's what I'm using. It's for any MP3 type player.

I have the same as you. Since my music is on my Ipod, I'm just going to get the Ipod adapter for my head unit run the cable to an ipod charging dock mounted on my dash or somewhere.

Thumbs up

If the aftermarket cable is for the NB, it plugs into the back of your existing HU (head unit) where the trunk cd changer cable is plugged in now. You can't have both. The cable in the trunk you are speaking of IS for the 6cd Changer. The OEM changer, one magazine, and OEM mounting bracket can be bought new, for abt $100. I have the links.

MiG is the first one I have read who has bought one of these aftermarket cables that worked. The factory setup is $200+

I purchased the Peripheral Systems iPod adapter for my stock cassette deck. Routed the iPod connector/charging plug into the glove compartment. Sounds great.
