A man after my own heart ! God saw fit to make beetles
black......and man can never hope to improve over God.
P.S. - One day I'm going to x-ray one of those little
bugs and see if they have a form of turbo under that shell.
For those little rascals sure do know how to 'motor'!

Sounds like your car is going to be extra-sharp! (I googled the wheels- guess I'm still a bit new to VWs )

When I saw the wheels in what appeared to be chrome
on the Beetle R Concept car, that was shown at the recent
auto show in Frankfurt, I was able to track down only
the plain alloy version. Later found out that the ones
on the concept car are shiny aluminum and not chrome.
Mine will be chrome over alloy metal and they will have
a special clear coat that will allow me to use them in
the northeast year round. Was told to only clean them when
the wheels are cool and then only use soap and water. A
bit of wax over the clear coat is also O.K. according to
the wheel chroming company.
