Default TT short shifter?? where to find?

I have been wanting to buy a TT short shifter but ECS tuning says it's only special order...anyone know where I can find one in stock? I was hoping to order one along with a timing belt kit at the same time and I'd rather not wait a month for the shifter...

Forgot to add that this is for my 99. I see that some posts are saying there was a change somewhere around mid-99...how do I know which shifter I need?

If yours has the "Silver" type counterweight (looks like a golf club kinda) then the TT shifter will work on yours.

IDParts has it for $62.00

Actually, ECS tuning shows it in STOCK for 39 bucks!!!

Actually, that's my big gripe with ECS. What they say on the phone and what their site says is two different things. You can try to call them, but I gotta warn ya, a lot of times the guys on the phone know about as much about the products they sell as a 5yo........ Not knocking them, they have some outrageous sale prices on some stuff. But customer service was sub-par, when I had questions.

I hear this unit is the bomb, but it states it's fro 2000 on up.

I had one of those Dieselgeek short shifters in my Audi TT and I didn't care for it. Made the shifts a lot notchier and yes, I did adjust the endlinks correctly. It eliminates the counterweight and makes the endlinks very heavy. It does reduce both side to side and front and rear shifts but to me it wasn't worth the notchy shifts. I ended up selling it and going back to stock.

Just checked and apparently I have the older style black shift lever(circled in orange in the pic)

Is there any options for this??
