Default Autotech intercooler vent plate

Has anyone installed this piece? Seems like the stock IC is awfully cramped in there with nowhere for the air to go.

Buy the OEM Turbo S fender liner. It has a vent built in. Or, do something yourself by drilling holes or cutting a square and gluing mesh into your existing liner.

Thanks for the tips. I think anything but a downward slotted vent would allow dirt and water to get up in there on the IC from the tire. And the Autotech plate is probably cheaper than the TS fender liner.
My question, though, is whether it is worth doing. I imagine that heat soak could be a problem in warm climates, decreasing efficiency, and a vent could help that. True or not?

I paid $30 for the TurboS vented liner and it was worth every single penny. Looks bone stock, fits like a glove.. now gluing or anything stupid. Just factory fit and finish with much improved cooling.

Can't beat that... can ya

I was quoted the same price at my local dealership and the Autotech vent is $39.95 + shipping and comes with the mounting screws. IMO I'd go with the Turbo S liner. Either way is a pretty good cheap mod.

I second that. Cheap, easy, stock looking, does the job.

Wow, I figured that TS fender liner would be at least a hundred bucks, or more. I'll be ordering one soon. It surely will help the IC do its job.
