OZ Hydra is very nice looking wheel! Clean and simple, I love it. It weighs around 22-23LBs so it's pretty light. It's not like you are going to notice the difference in mileage. My 18x8 wheels weigh 27LBs and I certainly didn't notice any change besides slightly slower feel when accelerating and I quickly forgot about it. Like I said, Hydras are pretty lightweight and you should have no problems. I say go for them

18" wheels and tires are usually heavy, so your economy should theoretically drop. For max economy you should use the lightest and smallest wheel you can get with the most narrow tire you can get.

However, the hydras are pretty light. Run them and be happy

This is entirely dependant on weight, if the wheel/tire combo is lighter than stock then unsprung weight would be reduced resulting in faster acceleration and possibly better fuel economy, if the combo is heavier than stock then the opposite would likely be true.

The weight of larger diameter wheels such as 18" etc. is normally directly linked to cost, lighter + larger diameter = higher cost, really this equation applies to smaller wheels as well but it is especially true as diameter increases.

It comes down to how much money you are willing to part with and/or which is more important to you, pinching pennies or getting what you really want.

Loss of acceleration and fuel mileage or just two of the negative aspects of using a heavy tire/wheel combo, the following are some of the additional areas that should also be considered:

1. Added stress on suspension & brake components.

2. Reduced maneuverability.

3. Increased stopping range.

4. Reduced vehicle control.

I run BBC 18"x 8" wheels with Goodyear F1's, this put me at 2Lbs. per corner lighter than the 16" wheel/tire combo the car came with, the performance improvement is absolutely beyond words, it wasn't cheap but was worth every penny.

Lol, if you are going with Ultraleggeras your econmy and acceleration will definately increase, like Too Coold said. Ultra's are one of the lightest affordable wheels and they look pretty damn cool. So, you'll basicaly shoot two things with one bullet since your car will look much nicer and performance will be better as well. Good luck.
