Default Fluid Change? Anyone local to help?

So I was reading through the first few pages of this thread and it seems like most people will indeed change out their tranny fluid and filter, regardless of the fact that VW claims to have made lifetime fluid and filter. Just out of curiosity, has anyone not changed theirs yet? Mine is very quickly approaching 100,000 miles and no tranny fluid change that I know of.

I've called a couple shops, my fav being Wolfgang's Auto (love those Russians), and even they say VW has lifetime fluid and doesn't need to be changed. Though that may be true, I still think I want to do it. Is there anyone on this board that is close to me (Auburn/Duluth/Atlanta Ga area) that would be willing to do the change? I could, I'm just so afraid of messing this car up! Especially because I have only done a tranny fluid change on a chevy 350 and 400 tranny. So, anyone local wanna make some money? I would appreciate it. I might have to wait just a little while but we could atleast set a time.

Thanks guys you're great! Oh, and mine is an Automatic!

Please do change it, so far, it has saved the 01M on my 01 TDI.

That being said, a lot of shops may try to do a suction job. DON'T DO a simple suction.

There are some mechanics listed on the TDI club, some will, and some won't touch it. Just ask.
