Default Going from manual to auto

I bought 2 2006 beetle convertibles to build 1, one was fire under the hood and the other was hit in the front the one that I will fix has a manual transmission and the one I am using for parts is auto, could I just swap the auto and the manual trans out or would wiring harness and everything have to be changed. I guess what I am trying to say is I want to use the auto trans in my manual car.

Default hey now....

just wondering how much $$$ you think you can pull this off for? like how much did the two verts cost you? i was going to ask that wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a 2006 nbc? maybe not........

please throw up some pics of the process.....would love to follow along.....

good luck!

Wiring harness, ECU, TCU and probably cluster would have to be swapped. As well as the axles, starter and a few other things. I also have to ask...WHY? A MANual transmission is the way to go. Last forever, easy and cheap fluid changes, more fun to drive, better fuel mileage.

Why would anyone want an auto? (unless you don't have use of your left leg/right arm or something)

Well to be honest just because you like a manual does not mean everyone does, I was just wondering because my wife would rather have the auto but since all of that has to be changed, we cant go that route. Thanks for the advice
