Default ATF,Yay or Nay?

So,The auto trans is bucking, slipping, bein' a jerk recently, servicing her tomorrow with another filter+fluid...Heres my question,im sorta' a broke college student(as usual) and just happened to score (for free)5 qts of.....

Valentines day = more broke(gifts),May i use this brand of ATF without trashing my auto?? Its currently got 111k,sloppy shifting, harsh, just need to squeeze another 50-60k till a swap...Do i have a chance using mobil 1 syn. ATF along with a new filter and such and reaching that goal???

Im a smooth driver, always warm up the trans,im not actin' a fool behind the wheel now days,If i provide proper service using this product as a substitue, will i be okay?

Thanks fellow org-meisters

lol,feel free to...

Meaning 30k on the mobil 1 atf, then switch back to Vw atf,not a 60k stretch, that would be silly...

Well, what properties are lacking or in excess to provide a safe alt. to standard Vw ATF??What about mobil 1 synthetic atf that will cause harm, and where will harm result?

(This is when I learn something)

First of all, you are trying to get another 60k out of a 110k 01M automatic that is already having problems. To be 10000% honest, you'll be quite lucky to make it that far. Heck, you'd be lucky to make it half that.

If you are trying to squeeze miles out of a problem vehicle, cutting corners on maintenance will only cause you headaches.

To be fully honest if I had a 110k mile 01M automatic that was giving me issues i'd throw as little money as possible into parts for it and save up for either a manual swap or another 01M to replace it.

GOOD Good. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Are you certain you didn't overfill? Car was level and flat, transimission was near operating temp?
