Default Amount of trans fluid needed

So I have to drop the trans pan and replace both axle flange seals on the Bug . I had previously posted about the triple square tool . I have that coming from my Mac dealer . I had asked in that thread about the amount of trans fluid I will need after to fill with . I didn't get any responses , so I am asking in a new thread . I need to know so I can have the proper amount of fluid on hand prior to doing the work .

We include (4) in our auto transmission service kits, manual transmissions only require (2).

If you have the auto there is separate lube in the diff section from the auto trans. section and it takes less than a quart. You check and fill by removing the speedo drive which is marked like a dipstick. You do not need to "drop the pan" on the auto to do this, however while you're under there go ahead and service the auto portion of the trans. The diff portion and the auto portion require different fluids. Enjoy.

If you happen to have a manual, there is no "pan". You'll need a 17mm hex wrench to drain and fill.
