Automatic Trans. Fluid now 40,000 mi item 2.5 ltr with 09G transmission
I just got a notice from VWoA that transmission fluid replacement (not filter) is now required every 40,000 miles for the 2.5 liter with 09G transmission. Guess this isn't a lifetime item after all!

If it was 30,000 miles the first would be covered under the free maintenance plan.

Even the older ones with the 'lifetime' fluid, the lifetime of the fluid is in reality about 50K.
