Hello fellow beetle lovers. I currently have a 2003 GLS 2.0L automatic beetle bug with 45k. The question I have is about the transmission. I have been to my VW dealership recently to have timing belt replacement and some various other things. The question I asked that seems to get puzzled looks and vague answers is always transmission fluid replacement. I would like to know if anyone knows the actual facts on wether or not the tranny fluid is "lifetime" or not??? I have changed the transmission fluid and filter on all other cars I have owned...Why in the world would I not have to change the tranny fluid and filter on my beetle?? I am all about preventitive maintenance, what should I do, this beetle is my baby and I want to do the best thing possible for her! I have to commute a distance to school and want everything in tip top shape. Should I just put my faith in what the dealership is telling and not worry about changing the fluid. Lots of solid advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
