Exclamation additive?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well I hate to say it but the harsh shifting is back again....onto trying an additive to the trans fluid...I know I know but it's the last resort but now I need some advice on WHAT additive and in the next 24 hours....so ANYONE with a positive outcome to putting an additive that helped with harsh shifting and shudder in these trans pleas speak up....or anyone with negitive outcomes you too please let me know....trans works perfectly when trans is cold and first 10 min of driving so tells me the fluid is thicker when cold and can hld pressure.....then when gets warm fluid thins out and can't....so an additive that thickens fluid should help in my oppinion....let me know

For one thing, you do not have a DSG. A DSG doesn't have a torque converter or a valve body in the traditional sense, and is essentially two electronically controlled manual transmissions side by side. 1,3,5 on one input shaft and 2,4,6 on the other.

You have the 6 speed 09G Aisin Warner automatic which is also used in Mini Coopers and possibly others. It does have a torque converter, valve body and is a traditional auto trans. Thin fluid is not your problem, a failing valve body or other failure is. Adding some snake oil additive to the transmission will either have no effect at all, or result in a faster and more spectacular complete failure of the transmission.

I wouldn't. Ask a trained VW mechanic questions like this. The problem with the internet is you can always find the exact answer you wanted to hear.
