Default My Beetle stays on 1st gear

My Beetle stays on 1st gear when I put them on "D"

I scan with VagCom and this is the code:

Control Module Part Number: 01M 927 733 EN
Component and/or Version: AG4 Getriebe 01M 4386
Software Coding: 00000
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000
1 Fault Found:

Drop it out and install a 5 speed.

But before you do that, check/clean the electrical connections on the transmission...particularly the round connector on top of the transmission. Disconnect, clean with electrical contact cleaner, blow it out with compressed air, spray with WD-40 and reconnect it.

What is the best way to get to that connector? I can't seem to find it.

You'll probably have to remove the airbox, its on top of the transmission.

Thanks. Got it. I did a resistance check on all solenoids. All read good. I think it is the TCU.
