Default Found part on the ground under car....

I just got back from getting my oil changed and they said they found a leak in the transmission/transaxle. Well after I got home from making an appointment at the dealership (I know, I know) I found this on the ground where I park my beetle.

Anyone have any idea what that is and if that's the problem?

Thats galvanized steel, so it didn't come off your car.

Automatic or manual?

It definitely looks like an access door of some sort, but I don't know of any galvanized skid plates.

Well, I have to agree with DZLBUG.. I have never seen anything on a vw using that kind of metal. Looks like some piece of fencing or something. You can look around for some sort of half circle shaped hole.. but i doubt there is.

Oh yeah... the picture links to an explanation of galvanized....

It was the LAST comment I was referring to, and I wasn't sayin! I enjoy the humor! Po'd me that someone chastized me for the same thing in another thread and it was actually poking at them!
